We are getting closer to our open house and ribbon cutting ceremony that will take place on August 21, 2026, and we need some help getting started. The E&R Library & Archives has created a "wish list" on Amazon with some essentials that will help prep the building for your arrival. This "wish list" includes janitorial items such as trash and recycling bins, paper towel, toilet paper, and bathroom cleaning products and fixtures. These are our first priority at the moment.
The wish list also includes essential office supplies that we will need to operate on a daily basis. These will also be needed and are included for your consideration, but are not our first priority.
You might be asking yourself the following question: Why does an organization that has been around since 1863 need these essential items? That's a great question. The ERLA has been fortunate to occupy space on the campus of Lancaster Theological Seminary and Franklin and Marshall College since it first began in 1863. Both of these great organizations have provided janitorial services for us (in addition to many other services) and we have never needed to purchase cleaning materials or supplies in the past. This is our first time outfitting our own facility and with that comes the need to purchase materials of our own.
Thank you to our friends at The West Virginia Daily News for sharing our upcoming open house and ribbon cutting ceremony that will take place on August 21, 2026, from 11 am – 1 pm, with the ribbon cutting at noon. Please come out and tour the new facility, connect with ERLA board members, and view some of our archival and museum collections. Food will be provided by Corn + Flour and Swift Level Fine Meats and music by the Optimistics. More information can be found in the press release linked below. We look forward to seeing you soon! #erlibraryandarchives … See MoreSee Less
